5 Florida teens accused of raping 13-year-old girl

Four of five male teens near Sarasota have been arrested after accused of raping a 13-year-old girl last year, deputies said.

The Braden River High School teens face charges of sexual battery, with one of the boys at large, WFTS reports.

The victim told Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputies about the incident on Jan. 18, but the alleged rape happened in August 2017, according to WFTS.

According to the arrest report, the victim sneaked out of her house to watch Netflix with one of the suspects. Shortly after, four other teens arrived to the home and argued with the suspect about the victim’s age  “and if she was a virgin,” WFTS reports.

The boy then went into the room with the victim and allegedly had non-consensual sex with her, the victim told deputies. Afterwards, the other four teens allegedly went into the room “one by one and raped the victim,” deputies said to WFTS.

Deputies arrived to the suspects’ high school on Jan. 19 to speak to one of the teens, who denied the allegations and said the sex was consensual, according to the sheriff’s office. The teen also told deputies about the four other boys who are accused of having sex with the victim.
