Laser light hits medical helicopter pilot

A medical helicopter pilot flying a patient to Dayton Children’s Hospital claimed he was hit in the eye with a laser pointer in the area of I-75 and Ohio 4 last night.

According to a Dayton police report, the pilot reported the laser light entered the cockpit two different times and the second time the light impacted the sight of the pilot.

The pilot told police he had “some pain in his eyes after”, according to the report.

The incident was reported around 7:45 p.m. and police do not have any suspects.

The pilot said he was confident the laser was a “high-intensity green laser light”.

The Federal Aviation Administration was notified of the incident.
