Local sex offender, 77, faces new charges

A Miamisburg man convicted of taking nude photographs of girls he lured into his downtown business is again facing sexually-related criminal charges, according to a Cleveland suburb’s court records.

William Elliott, 77, is the suspect in three incidents of rape ending in November 2013 involving an 11-year-old female, according to Mayfield Village police. The alleged incidents took place at the victim’s home and have landed Elliott in Lyndhurst Municipal Court facing three felony rape counts.

“It’s pretty terrible,” said Mayfield Village Det. Sgt. Kevin Miller. “We don’t deal with this very often.”

A registered sex offender, Elliott pleaded guilty in April 2006 to possessing hundreds of sexually explicit pictures of two different underage girls aged 7 and 17, according to Montgomery County court records.

Police at the time said Elliott lured the girls into his downtown Miamisburg business, the Exotic Finch Loft, and then took the photos and stored them on his business computer. Elliott expressed remorse during his 2006 sentencing.

“I am truly sorry for the pain that I caused,” Elliott said in court, calling the incidents “a spur of the moment thing.”

Elliott was released in July 2008, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

“He received a two year sentence on each count, but they were ordered to be served at the same time,” Greg Flannagan, spokesman for the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office said Thursday. “It allowed us to keep the victims out of court so they didn’t have to go in to testify.”

Last week, Cuyahoga County Child and Family Services notified Mayfield Village police of the new allegations.

Authorities said Elliott turned himself in to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office once he learned of the new charges. Mayfield Village detectives drove down last Friday and extradited Elliott to Cuyohoga County where he was booked and processed.

The Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office had not heard from Elliott since his 2006 case, Flannagan said.
