The boy has been released from Dayton Children’s Medical Center, but continues to receive treatment.
Troy police reported the child’s mother took him to the hospital in the early hours of Oct. 11 after he woke her up screaming. The mother was at work during the time the child was injured. Fansler was left in charge of the boy and another young child, police said.
Fansler faces two to eight years in prison at sentencing, which is scheduled for Feb. 28. Fansler’s bail of $100,000 was continued.
