Man pleads guilty in deadly stabbing of mother, sister

A Xenia man pleaded guilty Thursday to the stabbing deaths of his mother and sister in December 2018.

Winston W. Sheppard, 56, was convicted of two counts of aggravated murder and two counts of felonious assault, according to WHIO.

He is to serve 20 years to life in prison as part of a plea deal.

Sheppard was accused of stabbing his mother, Estella Sheppard, 84, and sister, Ralphael Sheppard, 57, during a Dec. 5 argument at their Hardacre Drive home.

Estella was taken to Greene Memorial Hospital, where she died.

Ralphael was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness at the home called 9-1-1.

“My friend stabbed his mom,” he told 911 dispatchers. “She’s laying here on the floor. She needs an ambulance … There’s blood everywhere.”

Winston Sheppard also called dispatchers while the man who witnessed it was on the phone.

“My mom and my sister got into an argument and I stabbed them,” he said.
