A New Carlisle man is in critical condition at a Dayton hospital after he was struck in the head Sunday morning with a glass mug.

Clark County Sheriff's deputies responded at 7:34 a.m. to a call in the 1600 block of Wogaman Drive in New Carlisle about a man and woman fighting in a car with blood on it. Deputies later found the vehicle and its occupants at the Huber Health Center, where Terry Jennings suffered a severe head laceration. He later was transferred to Kettering Medical Center. Jennings' mother told deputies her son was struck with a large glass mug during a fight at the home of siblings Michael and Danielle Stapleton in the 4600 block of West National Road in Bethel Twp.

Michael Stapleton, 20, and his sister, Danielle Stapleton, 21, were both booked into the Clark County Jail.

Michael Stapleton reportedly told deputies he struck Jennings in the head with a glass mug during a fight about his sister, according to the sheriff's office. He is charged with felonious assault and underage alcohol consumption.

Danielle Stapleton is charged with obstructing justice, a felony, and misdemeanors of obstructing official business and falsification. She allegedly gave a false name to investigators because she thought she was wanted in another police jurisdiction.

All three involved in the incident were intoxicated, according to the sheriff's office.
