FIRST REPORT (Aug. 26)
A Xenia man who served time in prison for trying to hire a hitman is in trouble again, this time on charges accusing him of sex crimes involving a child younger than age 13.
Douglas Moore, 44, through a bill of information is formally charged with gross sexual imposition and sexual battery stemming from offenses alleged to have occurred between Oct. 1, 2014, and March of this year, according to the Greene County clerk of courts.
Moore’s attorney, the county prosecutor’s office and the sheriff’s office all declined comment this afternoon.
Moore is the same man sent to prison for 12 years after he was convicted of offering a hitman $400 to kill his unborn child and injure the pregnant woman who was his ex-girlfriend.
He was sentenced in November 1997. Prosecutors said he plotted to kill the baby after he and the mother-to-be ended their relationship, threatening to never allow him to see the child. Part of the evidence included audiotape of Moore talking with a person he thought was a hitman. That person was an undercover police officer.
Moore is to be in court Sept. 3 on the new charges.
