Middletown High School was on a short lockdown this morning after a female student brought a knife into the building, according to school officials.

No students were injured and the knife was not used in any threatening manner, said Middletown Schools spokeswoman Elizabeth Beadle.

The student was taken into custody by Middletown police and classes have resumed.
