Middletown police reports

About $1,840 in construction property was reported stolen from the 4700 block of River Trail Drive. The stolen items — including three aluminum ladders and an air compressor — were the property of the Barbecho Construction company. The owner told police he was working on the home and left the allegedly stolen items securely fastened with a chain and lock in the basement portion of the residence over the weekend. When he returned, he found the chain and lock had been cut and the items were taken. “Barbecho Construction” is printed on all the tools, he said.

A vehicle was reportedly broken into on the 4500 block of Bonita Drive. However, the only item found missing was a Bible. The victim told police she believed her car doors were left unlocked. Other items in the vehicle’s glove box appeared to be moved around but all that was missing was the Bible.

A Middletown man told police he was a victim of identity theft. Section 8 housing recently contacted the man with news that someone was using his name, date of birth and Social Security number to inquire about a job at Pro Pack Logistics. The victim said he had lost his wallet a few years ago and was a victim of identity theft at that time. A man was charged and prosecuted in connection with the incident. The man said he did not know who was using his information this time. Police alerted Pro Pack Logistics of the identity theft accusation.
