James E. Heinkelein, 47, was indicted on charges of assault, possession of drug abuse instruments, obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a list released Monday by the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.

According to prosecutors, Heinkelein was administered Narcan and revived during his transport by ambulance on April 7.

He is accused of spitting on and punching emergency medical technicians, apparently because he didn’t want to go to hospital. The technicians were not injured.

Heinkelein was originally charged in Mason Municipal Court and was free on bond Monday, pending his arraignment on May 19 in Warren County Common Pleas Court.
