Police: Boy left alone so woman could buy cigarettes

A woman was charged with child endangering after Fairborn police say she left her boyfriend's 2-year-old son home alone so that she could go buy cigarettes.

Summer Sizemore, 22, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, after police were dispatched to an Erie Avenue residence on a report of an unattended child at the home. Police say that while her boyfriend was at work, Sizemore left the child at the house while she went to the store to get cigarettes.

While she was gone, the child and a dog both left the house. A neighbor found the child in the roadway, and that person also caught the dog.

Sizemore returned about five minutes after the child was found by the neighbor, according to the report.

The child's mother was called and she took custody of the child. She said the child had blood on him after falling in the street.

Children's Services was notified of the investigation.
