Police: Drug deal near hookah bar leads to arrests

Three men were arrested Sunday night on drug, alcohol and/or traffic violations after police saw them making what they thought was a drug deal outside a hookah bar on Wayne Ave.

An undercover officer was observing a silver van parked in front of the business, when one subject got into the van, staying about a minute then exiting. Police reported they believed a drug deal had occurred.

Police followed the van and pulled over the driver for failing to signal a turn.

According to the police report, the driver, Anthony Harden, 31, quickly exited the vehicle and did not comply with the officer’s command to get back in. The officer instructed him to come to the front of the cruiser, which he did. After a quick patdown for weapons, the officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana on his person. He was placed in the cruiser. The vehicle was searched and police report they found open containers of alcohol and a jar of suspected marijuana. He was booked into Montgomery County jail.

In the other arrest record, the vehicle containing the subject who was seen getting in to the van was pulled over for having no tail lights.

The passenger, Kyree Trayvick, 24, was arrested for having an open container of alcohol and having marijuana hidden in his crotch. His court date on the online jail site is March 30 in the afternoon docket.

The driver, Issac Clay, was cited for several driving under suspension violations, no rear lights, and not signaling a turn.

Neither Harden nor Clay are listed on the jail website.
