Police: No foul play suspected after teen’s body found near Hamilton park

A person found dead last week near Millikin Woods Park has been identified by the Butler County Coroner’s Office as a Mason woman, and police said they don’t believe there was foul play involved.

Breanne Hamlin, 18, was found dead Wednesday in the 1300 block of Franklin Street, according to the coroner’s office. The cause and manner of death is listed as “pending.”

Hamilton police are continuing the death investigation, but Sgt. Richard Burkhardt said foul play is not suspected.

Hamlin was reported as a runaway as a juvenile, returned home and then left again after turning 18, according to Mason police. She had been living most recently in Butler County.

A female who told dispatchers she was walking in Millikin Woods Park with her son Wednesday called 911 at 4:37 p.m. to report finding a body.

The woman said the “skeleton” was partially under a lime green blanket in the woods near a shelter.

“The poor thing. I don’t know how nobody hasn’t seen it before now,” the woman said.
