Man shot in shoulder inside car at Dayton apartment complex

UPDATE @ 6 p.m. (May 10):

A 37-year-old man who was shot in the shoulder Thursday night was not cooperative with the Dayton police investigation.

The man was shot while inside a car in the parking lot of the Boltin Apartments in the 100 block of Boltin Street.

It’s not the first time the man had been shot. He was paralyzed from the waist down from a previous shooting, according to a Dayton police report.

UPDATE @ 10 p.m.:

Police have cleared the scene of a shooting tonight that happened in the parking lot of the Boltin Apartments at the corner of Boltin and Josie streets.

A 911 caller said she was in her apartment when she heard the gunshot.

“Somebody in my parking lot just got shot,” the caller said.

She said the victim was a man who was shot in the left shoulder while he was in the passenger side of a black Ford Taurus, and that no one else was in the car.

The victim said he didn’t know who shot him and would not answer questions about whether the shooter was in the car with him or was walking or driving by, the caller told dispatchers.

UPDATE @ 9 p.m.:

Police have surrounded the parking lot of the Boltin Apartments tonight with yellow crime scene tape.

The complex is at the corner of Boltin and Josie streets in Dayton.

FIRST REPORT

Police and medics were called tonight to a report of a gunshot victim.

The shooting was reported around 8:45 p.m. in the 100 block of Boltin Street in Dayton.

According to initial reports, the victim is a man who was shot in the left shoulder. His name and condition were not immediately known.
