Police: North Euclid Avenue shooting a ‘targeted attack’

A shooting on North Euclid Avenue that killed a Trotwood man was a “targeted attack” and not a “random act of violence” according to Dayton police.

Tony Hill, 53, was killed during the shooting, which took place in the 800 block of North Euclid Avenue.

“The victim and suspect were reportedly involved in an altercation at a club in Dayton and were separated and asked to leave,” said Sgt. Michael Godsey. “A short time later, the two cross paths again, on North Euclid, where the suspect and victim get into another altercation resulting in the suspect shooting and killing the victim.”

The suspect has not been identified at this time and it is not clear if they are in custody.
