Report: Heroin-related incident causes stir on I-75 in Miami Co.

A woman claimed her son kicked her out of her vehicle along I-75 and stole her vehicle, while he was allegedly fueling a heroin-addiction, according to a 911 call.

Officers responded to I-75 south near the Ohio 55 exit around 9:15 a.m. after Miami County 911 received multiple calls about the reported incident.

“I’ve got a lady down. Her son is apparently a heroin addict and threw her out of the car and took off with her car when we pulled up,” a man told 911 while tending to the woman. “She’s over here crying and told us everything.”

The woman was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center to be evaluated for any possible injuries from the alleged incident.

The 911 caller told dispatchers the woman said her son was using heroin at the time the incident was reported to have happened and that he stole to car to feed his ongoing heroin addiction.

“She doesn’t know, but she knows that he’s going to get another fix,” the caller said. “I guess they were arguing and he just pushed her out of the car.”

The Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating the incident and is working to determine what charges may be filed in the case.
