Report: Puppy stolen from Dayton yard, listed for sale on Facebook

A 7-week-old puppy was stolen from its front yard and then listed for sale on social media, according to a police report.

A woman outside with her pit bull and bulldog mix puppy in the yard on East Mumma Avenue when a man in a tan Buick stopped and approached her.

The man reportedly asked how much she wanted for the puppy. When the woman said it wasn’t for sale, he grabbed the dog, put it in the car and drove off, according to the report.

The woman’s friend found a Facebook post listing the puppy for sale. The woman told police that the profile posting about the dog was the same man who took her dog, the report stated.

She attempted to set up a meeting with the man, but he never showed up.

Police identified the man based off information on the Facebook page, but he has not been arrested or charged at this time.

The puppy is brown with white on its face and chest. It was wearing a green collar and black leash when it was stolen.
