According to Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey, Hammond removed a baggie from her clothing and was trying to put it into her purse when officers intercepted it. The substance inside field-tested positive for methamphetamines, the sheriff said.
Also during the traffic stop, Hammond reportedly gave officers a false name.

She was arrested on a child support warrant and obstructing official business and a felony drug possession charge, jail records show.
While at the jail, detention staff found two syringes in her purse, Grey said.
Further charges are being reviewed.
The driver was not arrested, Grey said.
