Suspect in church theft indicted on 3 felonies

Officials believe Nickolas L. Williams may be linked to other cases in Ohio.

Nickolas L. Williams, suspected of stealing a credit card from the Bellbrook Community Church on July 11, is being held in the Greene County Jail on $5,000 bond.

Williams, 28, of Reynoldsburg was indicted on three felony counts of receiving stolen property.

Bellbrook police Chief Dave Helling said Detective Keith Salyers has been all over the state tracking the case. Helling said Salyers executed a search warrant on Williams’ car and found property believed to be linked to several thefts, including one possibly out of the Xenia area. Helling said police in Central Ohio also are building cases against Williams.

Williams is suspected of walking into the Bellbrook Community Church, stealing the church’s credit card and buying more than $800 in merchandise on the card in the Columbus area.

Court records show Williams has theft and receiving stolen property convictions in Franklin County.
