Thieves leave trail of ice cream wrapper

TROTWOOD (Aug. 28): Thieves left a trail of ice cream wrappers that went cold when, apparently the ice cream ran out at a local par 3 golf course.

Someone broke into the course’s clubhouse with a rock through the window, then loaded up with a couple of tote bags, 24 bottles of beer, bags of potato chips, cheese crackers and ice cream goodies.

Police followed the trail of wrappers through the course, eventually coming to a dead end. The clubhouse had been broken into the night before as well, leading to a posted sign “No Money.”

Authorities wonder if maybe whoever broke in was just hungry.
