Tires punctured in Fairborn

FAIRBORN, Greene County — Police are investigating about 20 reports of criminal damaging that occurred overnight to vehicles parked at the Charter Woods Apartment complex.

Police started receiving calls about punctured tires on various vehicles at approximately 7 a.m. Thursday, July 8, according to Fairborn Sgt. Matt Ricketts.

“We still have officers on the scene taking reports,” Ricketts said at 10:40 a.m.

Charter Woods Apartments is located between National Road and Zink Road in the southwest part of Fairborn.

Most of the confirmed reports of damaged cars were parked on the streets of Reese Drive, Charterridge Drive, Charter Grove Drive, and Charterwoods Circle. However, Ryan Hehr, 24, said the tires on his car, which was parked on Cinnabar Place - less than a mile away from Charterwoods Circle, were also punctured. A neighbor alerted Hehr about the damage early this morning.

“I was just disappointed that someone stooped so low,” he said.

Now, Hehr and the other victims will have to foot the bill for new tires.

Police currently have no motive, leads or suspects, Ricketts said. They also have not determined what instrument was used.

Anyone with information about the incidents, should contact Fairborn police at 754-3000.
