Troy police search for Meijer cash thief

A man was captured on surveillance prying open a cash register in the Meijer garden center and stealing cash from inside, according to Troy police.

Around 10 a.m. Sunday, police were called to the business after the man, who was wearing a black shirt, dark shorts, black socks and black shoes, committed the crime, police said.

The suspect was described as being around 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds and had glasses pushed up on his forehead.

According to investigators, the thief was dropped off by a white Ford Escape or similar vehicle with a broken back window covered in plastic.
