Vandalia Rite Aid pharmacy robbery suspect indicted, accused of similar crime

A 21-year-old Cincinnati man is accused of a Rite Aid Pharmacy in August to get prescription drugs.

Dasean A. Whitehead was indicted Monday for aggravated robbery.

Police said the suspect showed a gun at his waistband and handed a pharmacist a note demanding drugs on Aug. 4, 2018, at the pharmacy at 10 W. National Road in Vandalia. No one was injured and the robber got away with an undetermined amount of drugs.

Whitehead also is accused of a similar crime at a Rite Aid in Enon in Clark County. He was charged with robbery and possession of criminal tools, and has pleaded not guilty, court records show.

Whitehead is due for arraignment Thursday in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.
