Authorities are asking for help in locating a furloughed Warren County Jail inmate.

Jason Fugate, 41, failed to return from a court-ordered furlough, according to a press release issued Wednesday by the Warren County Sheriff's Office.

Fugate, accused of failing to report an address change as required of convicted sexual offenders, was ordered to return to the Warren County Jail on May 9.

Inmates were furloughed as part of COVID-19 measures by the Warren County Common Pleas Court. It was unclear whether that was why he was released.

Court records show Fugate was indicted on April 27 on the latest failure to report an address change charge and held on $10,000 bond until his furlough on May 5.

He was scheduled to return to court on Thursday.

Fugate also is now charged in Lebanon Municipal Court with escape as a result of the latest allegations.

In January 2010, Fugate was sentenced to two years in prison for escape in Warren County, according to court records. A failure to report an address change charge was dismissed in February 2010.
