Dayton Metro Library branch reopening with expansion, new services

The West Carrollton branch of the Dayton Metro Library is set to celebrate its reopening next week after a nearly $4 million renovation.

The branch in the West Carrollton Civic Center at 300 Central Ave. has been closed since September 2017 as part of the metro library system’s renovation at branches throughout the Dayton area.

A grand reopening is scheduled from 3 to 6 p.m. Oct. 22.

Library officials said the renovation will expand the library from 10,000 to 15,000 square feet as part of the $3.88 million work by project manager Shook Construction and contractor Staffco Construction.

The library will include a quiet reading room, group study rooms, a fireplace and dedicated spaces for children and teens, as well as more parking, according to the library system.

The West Carrollton renovation is part of the metro library’s projects in Montgomery County funded by a voter-approved $187 million bond issue in 2012.
