Miamisburg has a variety of shops in the downtown area catering to your sweet tooth.

The city’s bicentennial celebration this week is expected to attract thousands of visitors. If you’re among those in town for Miamisburg’s 200th birthday party, here are five unique places you may want to check out:

•Amy Cakes: Cakes & More, 5 E. Linden Ave. Garnered national recognition as a contestant on the 2013 Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, it offers specialty cakes, a variety of different daily cupcakes, cookies, cake balls and more.

•Bakery 151, 130 N. First St. A traditional New York/New Jersey style bakery. Specializes in classic Italian and French pastries, including freshly made cannoli, éclairs, cream puffs and Italian butter cookies.

•Bear Creek Donuts, 80 S. Main St. Offers traditional sweet breakfast treats, as well as specialties such marshmallow doughnuts, fruity pebbles or s’mores. Also offers chocolate peanut butter cup, and cookies and cream flavors

•Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop, 42 S. Main St. Offers a wide selection of sweets and old fashioned glass sodas as well as a $5 candy buffet. Home to more than 250 candy bars and 100-plus bulk candies.

•3 Dips Ice Cream Shoppe, 33 S. Main St. Frozen treats are a specialty at this ice cream and yogurt shop. Offers a cozy parlor and has been lauded for its charm and friendly staff.
