Ground Broken On New Montessori School

Dayton Public School officials broke ground on the second new school this week and they are excited about its new approach to learning for the more than 550 children who attend.

Ground was broken on Wednesday morning and the school was given the name Rivers Edge Montessori. The school will provide a great opportunity for great learning experiences inside and outside.

Students played “America the Beautiful” to kick off a program for what Dayton Public School officials are hoping will be a beautiful new school and innovative learning experiences.

Superintendent Dr. Kurt Stanic said, “When this school opens it will have a brand new name.”

Stanic and other administrators call the school formerly known as Franklin Montessori, a chance at an innovative, hands-on learning experience.

The school’s new principal, Holli Gover, said, “This opportunity will allow us to create our dream school on the Rivers Edge with a magnificent view.”

One of the nice features of the location of the school is that it is within walking distance to the Dayton Art Institute, The Schuster Center and the main library.
