Another 125 or more workers at the Fairborn facility who send merchandise directly to Bon-Ton stores, as opposed to consumers, will not be affected by the move, Hojnacki said.
Bon-Ton’s 55 e-commerce workers in Fairborn have been offered the opportunity to transfer to the new facility. So far, eight workers have accepted transfers. Those who don’t want to move will be offered severance benefits, Hojnacki said.
The transition of e-commerce workers to the West Jefferson plant will be staggered through September, she said.
With construction nearly complete, Bon-Ton will host a three-day job fair for its new fulfillment center on June 11-13. The company is seeking both full- and part-time fulfillment leads, material handlers, pick-and-pack processors, clerical and administrative support, and housekeeping workers.
The job fair will be held from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. June 11 and 12, and from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. June 13, at the Bon-Ton Fulfillment Center, 115 Enterprise Parkway, West Jefferson. Interested applicants should complete an online job application at careers.bonton.com.
