Free Vets Moving Forward event to support local veterans

Veterans in the Miami Valley will have the opportunity to get support in a variety of ways May 22 from 3 to 7 p.m. during the Vets Moving Forward event, to be held at the Wright State University Student Union, 3640 Col. Glenn Hwy., Fairborn. The event is being sponsored by the Greater Miami Valley My Veteran Community.

Veterans will be able to:

• Join in learning about support for them in the local community;

• Talk to employers about jobs;

• Network with other veterans;

• Enroll in healthcare services at the Dayton VA Medical Center;

• Apply for VA benefits.

The RTA and Greene CATS will provide free transportation to veterans to and from Wright State University; veterans need only show proof of military service upon boarding.

Veterans may register for free for the event at www.vetsmovingforward.org.

Organizations hiring veterans and veteran service organizations are welcome to become a part of the event and register for a resource fair or job fair table at the same website.
