4 Goldfish varieties recalled for potential presence of salmonella

Pepperidge Farm has recalled four of its Goldfish cracker flavors, after a potential exposure to Salmonella.

Flavor Blasted Xtra Chedder, Flavor Blasted Sour Cream & Onion, Goldfish Baked with Whole Grain Xtra Cheddar and Goldfish Mix Xtra Cheddar and Pretzel were recalled after the company was notified by an ingredient supplier that a whey powder in the seasoning had potentially been exposed to Salmonella, according to a Pepperidge Farms announcement Monday night on Twitter.

“This decision was made out of an abundance of caution…No illnesses have been reported and no other Pepperidge Farm products in the U.S. are subject to this recall,” the announcement said.

Customers who have purchased the Goldfish flavors in the recall should dispose of the crackers or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

A Pepperidge Farm chart shows the sell-by dates and packaging affected for each variety.
