A hydroponics company plans to move from its West Carrollton location on Ohio 725 to a new site it plans to build on East Dixie Drive, according to the city.

Dayton Hydroponics plans to relocate from 3856 Miamisburg-Centerville Road after demolishing a former restaurant it bought at 630 E. Dixie and building a facility more than twice as large, according to city documents.

The company bought the 1.4 acres on Dixie – the site of a former restaurant – in August 2017 for $49,698, according to Montgomery County records.

The building that housed the former Duke’s Restaurant is about 5,000 square feet, city records show. Initial plans call for the new structure to be 10,800 square feet with about 4,800 square feet of additional retail space for lease, according to the city.

Dayton Hydroponics has applied for a demolition permit, records show. The company specializes in indoor organic gardening, according to its website.
