“I’m very community-minded, so it felt right the right thing to do,” Wolters said of her decision to seek the vice president’s position. “I also want to be a voice for smaller breweries.”
Wolters, who had previously served on the association’s board, also will serve as chair of the OCBA’s marketing committee.
The Ohio Craft Brewers Association was founded in 2008 as a non-profit organization to help unify the Ohio brewing community, market Ohio-produced beers throughout the state and beyond, and to promote a strong beer industry in Ohio. Its annual conference was held in Dayton earlier this year.
John Haggerty, brewmaster at Warped Wing Brewing Company in downtown Dayton, will join the association's board on Aug. 1, along with Bret Kollmann Baker of Urban Artifact, Jimmy Stockwell of Little Fish Brewing Company and Luke Purcell of Great Lakes Brewing Company, according to Mary MacDonald, executive director of the OCBA.
Officers in addition to Wolters include new president Chris Alltmont of Fat Head’s Brewery and secretary Collin Castore of Seventh Son Brewing.
The association's members aren't just breweries. It has an "enthusiast members" category for consumers.
