Springboro unveils latest plan for new performing arts center as construction approaches

Springboro City Manager Chris Pozzuto unveiled the final rendering of the city’s proposed $4.5 million performing arts center for the city council on Thursday.

“We’re about to begin construction on our performing arts center,” Pozzuto said during a brief presentation during the work session before the council meeting on Thursday night.

Demolition of buildings still standing at the former Springboro IGA Plaza is to begin on Oct. 15, Pozzuto said.

Construction on the arts center, to anchor a commercial redevelopment on the northwest corner of the city’s central crossroads, Ohio 73 and Ohio 741, Central Avenue and Main Street in Springboro, is to kick off sometime in November, Pozzuto said.
