The city is seeking to address a problem with stray cats by revising its animal ordinance, including dropping its ban on trapping.
Complaints about stray cats are prompting Miamisburg to consider “a full re-write” of its animal ordinance, documents show. Among the proposed changes:
-Rescind its ban on trapping animals in the city, but require it be done with “humane” devices;
-Modify the definition of owner;
-Ban “reckless” outdoor feeding.
Miamisburg City Council is considering the changes in part because “the public nuisance standards regarding animals must be better clarified,” according to the legislation. A vote on the changes is not expected until at least October.
