Additional weight is given to children of military parents or guardians (active-duty or retired), graduates from Beavercreek High School (Wolfenbarger’s alma mater) and to female graduates. Applicants must submit a standard application, a transcript or current coursework printout showing cumulative GPA, and a 500 to 1,000-word essay addressing “My Goals, My Plan, and What I’ve Already Accomplished.” The highest-rated qualified applicant will be selected as the Award Recipient based on weighted rankings.
The Gen. Janet C. Wolfenbarger scholarship was established in recognition of the general’s life-long contributions to the United States and the U.S. Air Force. A true STEM champion and exceptional leader, she worked to cultivate Dayton regional growth.
