Yesterday the average price of regular gas in Dayton was $2.66 a gallon. A week ago, it was $2.73, while a year ago it was $2 a gallon.
The lowest price posted by area motorists during the 24 preceding hours, showed a Speedway at 62 E. Main St. in Enon selling regular gas at $2.47 a gallon. A Piqua Speedway has regular gas at $2.55, while a Speedway in Franklin has gas at $2.53.
The highest price for regular gas was found at an Ameristop at 5983 Old Troy Pike in Huber Heights.
"Oil prices have been reluctant to move higher than the low $80/barrel range as adequate supply and lower global demand continue to weigh on investors," said Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst.
Don't expect stable gasoline prices to last long though, DeHaan said.
"Prices will continue to rise in April before peaking around Memorial Day to close to $3 per gallon across areas of the country as cleaner burning summer fuels are sold," according to DeHaan.
