Area school to host motorcycle expo

FAIRFIELD TWP. — Motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to see the latest and greatest in the world of motorcycles at Butler Tech.

A Motorcycle Expo from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday will feature brand new bikes, the newest police motorcycles and a chance to talk to area vendors.

Visitors may tour the Butler County Public Safety Complex, 5140 Princeton-Glendale Road. It is the newest area location to offer Ohio’s Motorcycle Safety Program.

New motorcycle riders or those wishing to add a motorcycle endorsement may register at www.motorcycle.ohio.gov for one of 42 sessions. Classes cost $25 and registrants may select from several times and days.

The 16-hour beginner rider course is the state recommended class for beginning riders. Those who already ride, but have never taken a safety course, also are encouraged to take the course to learn more tips and helpful practices. Ohio law requires this class for teen riders ages 15 to 17. Students must have a temporary motorcycle learner’s permit or a motorcycle endorsement on their regular driver’s licence to begin the class.

Those who successfully complete the class are exempt from the state motorcycle driving test.

Motorcycles and helmets are provided for instruction. For more information call (800) 837-4337.
