An OVI checkpoint will be held tonight in Dayton.
The ckeckpoint will be held from 9 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday near the 2200 block of James H. McGee, between Gettysburg Avenue and Philadelpia Drive, according to a release.
Members of the Combined Agency OVI Task Force of Montgomery County, Dayton Police, and Five Rivers MetroParks will operate the checkpoint.
“The goal of the OVI task force is to reduce the number of alcohol and drug related traffic crashes, injuries and fatalities in Dayton and Montgomery County. Sobriety checkpoints do help to deter impaired driving and they aid in the apprehension of those impaired drivers, who make the choice to get behind the wheel and drive,” the release read.
