Accused bank robber indicted in Montgomery County

UPDATE @ 3:38 p.m. (March 9):

A man accused of robbing a bank has been indicted on charges of aggravated robbery (three counts); failure to comply with police order; and weapons under disability.

Henry L. Brown will be arraigned March 13 in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court. He remains in jail.

UPDATE @ 8:50 a.m. (Feb. 28): 

Miami Twp. police arrested a 55-year-old man following a bank robbery and pursuit through parts of Montgomery County Tuesday.

Henry L. Brown, 55, was arrested at Good Samaritan Hospital Tuesday by a Miami Twp. police officer on suspicion of aggravated robbery, according to online jail records.

Police said Tuesday the robbery and pursuit suspect was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Since Brown has not been officially charged, Miami Twp. police declined to confirm that Brown was connected to the robbery, citing department policy.

UPDATE @ 3:23 p.m. (Feb. 27):

Miami Twp. police have confirmed the person taken into custody following a chase is the same person who was wanted for a bank robbery on West Alex Bell Road.

The suspect has been booked into jail awaiting formal charges, but their identity has not been released.

Miami Twp. police confirm to this newsroom the police chase and crash are related to the bank robbery.

UPDATE @ 11:38 a.m. (Feb. 27):

One person is reportedly in custody following a high-speed pursuit that ended near the intersection of Salem Avenue and Free Pike in Dayton.

Initial reports indicate the pursuit was involving the suspect in the Miami Twp. bank robbery, but officials at the scene have not confirmed those reports.

Two medics were requested to the scene following a crash between the suspect vehicle and a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office cruiser. A deputy was transported to a local hospital, where x-rays were being done, but the deputies exact condition was not released.  We’re working to learn about any other people who may have been injured.

We have crews on the scene of the robbery and at the end of the pursuit.

FIRST REPORT

Multiple officers have responded to reports of a robbery at a First Financial Bank branch in Miami Twp. Tuesday morning.

Police responded to the branch at 2891 West Alex Bell Road around 9:30 a.m. after receiving an alarm from the bank.

Initial reports indicate the suspect fled in a vehicle and is heading towards Dayton.

Police are pursuing a vehicle through parts of Dayton, Trotwood and Harrison Twp. that is believed to be involved in the incident, according to police scanner traffic. One person is reported in custody following the pursuit according to scanner traffic.
