Beavercreek schools investigate ‘threat against safety’ at middle school

Beavercreek schools were alerted by multiple families about “a rumor of threat against safety” at Ankeney Middle School and now the district is working to learn more about the incident.

“We have been working in close contact with the Beavercreek Police Department through the morning hours and have determined at this point we have no evidence to substantiate the validity of the rumor,” said Beavercreek Superintendent Paul Otten in a message sent to parents Wednesday morning.

Otten said the district is still working to understand, investigate and address the situation.

The district is working to provide additional presence and support at the middle school to start the school day.

"We would like to thank our students that reported this information to their families as well as those families reaching out to our administrators so that quick action could be taken to address this concern,” Otten said.
