CENTERVILLE

Summer concert series continues

The 2017 Summer Concert Series, presented by the Centerville Arts Commission, continues with Corky’s Old Time Rock and Roll on July 23.

All concerts start at 7 p.m. at Stubbs Park Amphitheater, 255 W. Spring Valley Road.

Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.

All concerts are free and open to the public, although donations are accepted.

Primary Village South night slated

Centerville Library, 111 W. Spring Valley Road, will host Primary Village South night from 6-7 p.m. July 20.

Students can visit with the principal and teachers, and get book recommendations while updating their Summer Reading Club gamecard.

Crafts will be available, and participants can register for a chance to win a special library privilege.

This is geared toward Primary Village South students and their families.

KETTERING

Youth talent competition at Fraze Pavilion

The 2017 Youth and Teen Talent Competition will be held at 7 p.m. July 26 at the Fraze Pavilion, 695 Lincoln Park Blvd.

This event is free and open to the public. Performers at this annual competition have already won contests in their home communities. Prizes will be awarded.

Parents Night Out set for two days

The Habitat Environment Center, 3036 Bellflower St., is hosting a mini campout event in two sessions.

Kids 5-8 can attend from 7-9 p.m. July 28, and kids 9-13 can attend from 7-9 p.m. July 29, while parents enjoy a night out.

Participants will learn how to set up a tent, catch fireflies, explore the creek and enjoy hotdogs and s’mores at the Habitat’s Mock Campout.

The cost is $10 for residents and $ 11 for nonresidents

Preschool family meet and greet dates set

A weekly park play event is scheduled through August for families with preschoolers. All play events will be held from 6:30 to 7 p.m. at various parks throughout Kettering.

The next get-together will be held July 20 at Berwin Park, 1400 Berwin Ave.

A staff member will be available to provide crafts and special activities. Families can also bring a picnic dinner to enjoy as well.
