Veterans Day Ceremony Nov. 11

On Nov. 11, beginning at 2 p.m., the City of Beavercreek will hold a Veterans Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park, 1911 N. Fairfield Road.

Colonel Leonard T. Rose will be the guest speaker. Colonel Rose is Commander, 88th Mission Support Group, 88th Air Base Wing, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The Air Force Band of Flight’s Wright Brass will perform.

The public is invited. Parking is available on Fairwood Drive and at the Church of the Nazarene. Limited bleacher seating is available; lawn chairs are welcome.

Afro-American Museum hosts WWII exhibit

Ohio History Connection and the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center in Wilberforce are hosting the exhibit “African Americans fighting for a Double Victory.” It spotlights military service during World War II and how military service advanced civil rights on the home front. Project Feeder Watch Nov. 11

On Nov. 11, from 10-11 a.m. you can be a citizen scientist, and learn more about birds. Throughout late autumn and winter, Project Feeder Watch will collect information about birds that frequent the bird feeders at the Narrows Reserve Nature Center, 2575 Indian Ripple Road, Xenia. Bring your cup of coffee, relax in the bird viewing area and help count the numbers and bird species that come to the feeders. After each feeder watch, you can participate in a mini-workshop.

St. Brigid Holiday Bazaar Nov. 4

On Nov. 4 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. the St. Brigid Holiday Bazaar will be held at St. Brigid Parish Activity Center, 312 Fairground Road, Xenia. The bazaar will feature vendors selling handmade crafts and holiday dĂŠcor as well as delicious, fresh baked goods donated by parishioners. A raffle is held with holiday items and gift baskets as prizes, and a silent auction also features themed gift baskets which contain items donated by the St. Brigid School families. Hot lunch is served throughout the day.
