Brookville’s mayor has resigned due to a new job opportunity with Montgomery County, city officials said.
Brookville Mayor David Seagraves turned in his resignation letter to city council Friday to go into effect today. The council is set to accept his resignation at tonight’s council meeting.
Seagraves resignation comes after he has accepted a new position with Montgomery County. His new position states he cannot hold another public office position, according to his resignation letter obtained by this news organization.
He has been part of the council for 34 years and mayor for 16 years.
