Officers responded shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday to the 300 block of Cleveland Street in Piqua after a caller reported a cat was hanging from the line, according to the report.
“It appeared to be done on purpose, but no one witnessed it,” read the report.
The caller told dispatchers the cat was hanged by a belt.
The owners of the cat took it back so they could bury it.
