Even if a purchase of the land is made in the future, there’s no guarantee that the land will be used by the school district, according to Henderson. For example, the superintendent cited the purchase of 24 acres of land near Social Row Road in 2005, which has still yet to be used by the district.
Henderson said the if there was ever a need to build another school, the land could support that need.

If the district moves forward with this purchase, it would likely hold a similar wait-and-see approach to the land use. The land, which is owned by Miami Valley Hospital, is being leased to a local farmer. Centerville’s Cross Country team also holds annual meetings on the land according to, Henderson.
Henderson maintains that nothing on the district’s behalf is imminent, but that if there is an agreement to purchase the land, another agreement between the district and Miami Valley Hospital on purchase price would be the next steps in the process.
“It’s time again to take a serious look at the feasibility of buying it,” he said. “That would position us pretty well in the future. That’s really where we’re at.”
