The Champaign County Chamber of Commerce will host the fourth annual State of the Plate Local Foods Dinner on Oct. 9 at the historic Wren Farm outside Mechanicsburg.

This is a professionally catered dinner of locally grown food served in the historic Wren Barn. The event also provides attendees an opportunity to speak with and learn from the people who grew the meal’s ingredients.

Wren Farm is located at 6150 Ohio 187. Activities begin at 12:15 p.m. with registration and market time, which will feature samples and items for sale by local growers and producers. Opening remarks will start at 1 p.m. and will be followed by a local foods buffet co-catered by In Good Taste Catering and The Hippie & The Farmer.

The event will end at 3 p.m. Seating is limited. To make reservations and payment, guests are asked to call the Champaign County Chamber at 937-653-5764 by Friday, Sept. 30.

A reservation of $20 per person includes a full buffet with dessert and two tickets to select a glass of wine produced by Champaign County’s St. Ives Winery. The event is being planned by the Champaign County Local Food Council, a cooperative effort of the Champaign County Chamber and Champaign Economic Partnership.
