City of Dayton maintenance truck crashes into building

UPDATE @ 10:35 a.m.: 

No injuries have been reported after a City of Dayton street maintenance truck crashed into a building on East Stewart Street Tuesday morning.

No one was driving the truck at the time of the crash, according to police. Workers were patching holes in a nearby alleyway when the truck rolled away from the workers and hit the building.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Officers were not sure if the truck was not originally placed into park, jumped out of gear, or another mechanical issue was the cause of the incident.

Employees inside the building said the crash damaged some drywall, but no extensive damage was reported.

Additional details were not available.

A City of Dayton street maintenance vehicle crashed into a building on East Stewart Street this morning.

The crash was reported around 9:30 a.m.

The pickup truck struck the Crown Personnel Services building in the first block of East Stewart.
