“It was an exciting job for us,” Harding said of the gallery contract.
KETCO employees completed the eight-section structure and installed it in five weeks, in time for the December 2008 opening. The space will house other works by the London, England-based client, he said.
The company includes a pattern shop, a machine shop, as well as equipment for welding, forming metal and for painting. Employees can create models, shapes, patterns and forms, using materials from hi-tech materials, plastics, resins, or even industrial foam or wood. KETCO has its own exclusive material called “Foam and Fill,” which provides an economical and time-saving option, but still one that offers high quality and stability, they said.
“We do industrial models and forms, but we also produce engineering models for product development applications,” Gerbic said.
The company uses latest technologies, including computer-aided design and computer-aided machining. The company opened in 1971 in Kettering and moved to its Beavercreek location in 1977, Gerbic said.
“Most of our customers are from out-of-state,” Harding note.
The company has fared well through the economic downturn, in part, because KETCO has a diverse customer base. Companies that rely on a handful of clients, especially in the current business climate, may not be as fortunate, Harding said.
KETCO, Inc., is located at 1348 Research Park Drive.
