There have been 13 new coronavirus cases, one new hospitalization and one new death since Friday in Miami County.
The total number of COVID-19 cases is 431 for the county with 57 hospitalizations and 31 deaths, Miami County Public Health announced Monday afternoon in a news release.
The public health department also noted that Miami County is among counties seeing an increase in COVID-19 cases, especially for those between 20 and 29.
“So far in the month of June, Miami County has seen the number of cases for this age group more than double,” the release stated.
As of Monday, 49 cases in the county involve those between 20 and 29 and led to one hospitalization, Ohio Department of Health data shows.
While people in that age group tend to have less severe symptoms, or may not show any at all, they still have the ability to spread the virus to others, including those who are more vulnerable.
