Could one of county’s worst intersections become a roundabout?

Montgomery County Engineer Paul Gruner says the Alex Bell-Mad River Road intersection will undergo a traffic study to deal with long-time congestion and safety issues.

“We get a lot of calls about that intersection,” Gruner said.

According to Gruner, the intersection is one of the top crash locations in the county. The Montgomery County Engineer’s Office will seek a consulting firm to determine the “best solution” to the issues at the intersection.

Gruner said they will look at options such as adding a traffic light or a roundabout at the four-way stop intersection to alleviate traffic concerns.

The issue will go in front of county commissioners in July. Gruner said there will be opportunities for public comment.
